How to claim a city

    Pick your next district

    Start at opposite corners. Claim a highlighted neighbour for free, add a shield for 2 energy, or leap anywhere for 3. Energy is spent when the question opens, even if your answer is wrong.

    Answer to claim it

    A correct answer captures a district and earns energy. A shield blocks one correct attack, then breaks. Two correct answers in a row earn more energy. Scout removes two wrong answers once per player. If you lose every district, you can restart anywhere. A glowing ? marks a mystery district with a hidden prize, and coin bags or energy sparks appear on the board each round for whoever captures them. Some questions are golden and pay double coins. Fall three influence behind and you get a comeback boost of 1 energy.

    Build your city

    With two players you get six turns each, with three you get five, and with four you get four. Each district is worth 1 influence, the central landmark is worth 3, and a full row or column adds 2. Most influence wins. A tie goes to the largest connected group. An equal tie is shared.

Quick thinking has its perks

Correct answers earn 30 coins. Answer within 20 seconds for up to 20 extra. There is no answer deadline. Turn the speed bonus off before a match if you prefer.

Complete city missions for 40 coins each. Correct-answer streaks add up to 15 coins, and the round 3 festival adds 15. Coins unlock styles only. Tactical energy is earned in the match and cannot be bought. Demo coins have no cash value.

Choose your company

Solo showdown: play a computer opponent that gets around 70% of its moves right.

Solo: take on Sprout (easy), Pixel (medium) or Professor Hoot (hard), alone or against up to three characters at once.

Pass and play: two to four people take turns on one device.

Online: quick match with a new rival, challenge someone from the players online list, or invite up to three friends with a link. Take your turn when it suits you. Each question has 20 seconds, and a turn left for 24 hours is skipped.

City boards are playful illustrations rather than street maps. Questions mix city knowledge with music, sport, science, culture and ideas from around the world.
